Features of turkeys feeding

Among all domestic poultry, turkeys are valued primarily by its dietary meat. To get a really good meat product, it is important to choose correctly the combined fodder for turkeys.

The main rule - you must not overfeed the turkeys. If at one meal the individual poultry receives more calories than is required, its behavior becomes more aggressive. Therefore, it is necessary to observe the recommended rates of turkeys feed.

In the hot season, due to appetite loss, turkeys practically don’t eat dry food. To return the poultry's appetite it is recommended to add fresh grass to its ration. Also provide a full meal will help turkeys feed of brand «Feed&Life», which due to the optimal composition is suitable for daily feeding of both chicks and adults.

Combined fodder composition for turkeys

The quality of turkey meat largely depends on the feed quality that the poultry eats. This is why the following components must be included in the turkey fodder composition:

  • vegetable protein (grains and legumes);
  • animal protein (fish and meat-and-bone meal);
  • amino acids (soybean and sunflower schroth);
  • vitamins and mineral supplements (chalk, shell, yeast);
  • fats (nuts, acorns, vegetable oils);
  • fiber (hay, fresh herbs, vegetables).

Principles of turkeys feeding

Turkeys aged 3-7 days are recommended a 3-time meal. In the morning and in the evening dry food must be in the ration, and in the daytime - wet mash. For males, the daily intake of combined fodder for turkeys is about 200 g. Adult young growth poultry requires 300-350 g of feed per day, and females poultry - 100 g less.

As for the grown-up chicks, for the faster gain turkeys weight it is necessary to go over into 4 meals a day. And the daily norm of combined fodders will already be 800 g.
