Representatives of small cattle are goats, sheeps and other agricultural animals of the subfamily Goat. Due to the high fertility product can be obtained from them with less cost than from large cattle.
Features of small cattle feeding
The best concentrated feed for the animals of the Goat subfamily are combined fodders based on oats and barley. In this case the full composition of small cattle feed should include all the necessary nutrients: proteins, carbohydrates, fats, minerals and vitamins. Such a balanced feeding for this type of domesticated animals is the feed of brand «Feed&Life».
During the young sheep’s feeding, minerals content in the ration is important, because the quantity and quality of the wool and sheep depends on it. The annual requirement for minerals per one head is:
- salt - 3 kg;
- chalk and bone meal - 1,5-2 kg.
To maintain the sheep's fatness at the beginning of winter, they are recommended to feed by high-quality coarse fodder.
Feeding norms for small cattle
The average daily consumption of combined fodder per lamb and per adult sheep during the fattening period looks like this (respectively):
- hay - 1,5 kg / 1,5-2 kg;
- juicy feed -2 kg / 2-2,5 kg;
- concentrates - 200 g / 200-300 g.
In the cold season the norm should be increased by 400-500 g.
Feeding mode for small cattle
The daily norm of fodder for goats and sheeps is divided into 3-4 times.
Optimal sheep's feeding time:
- 7.00-8.00 - feeding of hay;
- 9.00-10.00 - feeding of juicy and coarse forages, watering;
- 17.00-18.00 - supply of hay and concentrated feed.
Thanks to the correct feeding mode for small cattle, the animals remain calm.
